The total sum of $950,000 isn’t at issue, but USA Today quoted her lawyers as saying the fee announced by FSU as $700,000 is not accurate.

“The lawyers are not taking anywhere close to $700,000, and FSU knows that," John Clune, one of Kinsman’s attorneys, told USA Today. “Just more of the same PR effort from FSU, unfortunately.”

FSU reportedly called the specific monetary allotments a “non-issue.”

Kinsman’s attorneys didn’t disclose their collective fees in the settlement, but Baine Kerr said the school’s figure was “massively overstated.”
