Defensive end Rasheed Kennion has left the program to “pursue politics,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn told the Montgomery Advertiser.

“He’s headed back home,” Malzahn said. “We wish him nothing but the best with that.”

The Jacksonville, Fla., native was a three-star recruit in 2014, picking Auburn over Memphis, Miami and Pittsburgh, among other schools. He recorded nine tackles in 12 games as a backup. He was named ‘Academic Top Tiger’ as a true freshman.
